Buckeye Epoxy Flooring uses a diamond grinder
with a dustless vacuum system
on all floors to prepare the concrete for epoxy installation
Diamond Grinding is a process that is used to prepare concrete for the application of epoxy flooring.
The grinding cleans the surface of contaminants and opens the pores of the concrete to allow the epoxy to bond to the concrete.
It is very important that this is done right or the epoxy coating will not adhere properly.
A lack of proper preparation is the main reason for failure of epoxy coatings.

Hot tire pick up
This problem is associated more with "do it yourself" store bought kits.
These lesser quality coatings are very thin and not 100% solids, which leaves them soft and easily damaged.
And proper preparation is usually never achieved.
A properly prepared and professionally installed 100% solids epoxy floor coating will not have this issue.
The spinning of tires on the epoxy coating can generate excessive heat and grip factors which can damage the flooring.

Expansion joints, saw cuts, and cracks
All concrete moves. Expasion joints and saw cuts are designed to allow for the movement of concrete.
When this movement is restricted, cracking can occur.
Due to this, expansion joints, saw cuts, and cracks can be patched or filled but there is no guarantee that they will not move in the future,
therefore causing a crack in the patch and up through the coating as well.

Durability
Epoxy flooring has an exellent impact and abrasion resistance.
However, the dragging or dropping of heavy items or anything that might damage the concrete surface might damage the epoxy as well.
